Stay overnight at the Fairmont Hotel, Banff. When you wake up, don't forget they drive on the right in Canada. But the steering wheel's on the left. Got that?
Banff National Park is Canada's oldest national park and covers 2,564 square miles of mountainous terrain. It's spectacularly beautiful, with glaciers, ice fields,
dense forest and alpine landscapes.
The Alpine Walk Heli-Hike is a brilliant way to explore the landscapes and mountain vistas. You'll fly in a helicopter to a secluded area high above the Bow River Valley followed by 3 to 4 hours of hiking.
The Banff Hot Springs were discovered in 1884. Sit and relax in hot mineral springs surrounded by spectacular scenery. Perfect for mind and body and soul.
There are over 16 types of Owl in Canada.
Woo Hoo.
Stay overnight in Banff, then in the morning, motor north 163 miles to Jasper.
We'll leave this one up to you. Put your feet up, take in the sites, drive off the beaten track or just have a lie in...
Climb aboard a Brewster Ice Explorer (a very cool half-bus/half-truck designed specially for glacial travel) for a spectacular 80-minute journey across the surface of the Athabasca Glacier.
The Icefields Parkway's website says: “To travel the Icefields Parkway is to experience one of Canada's national treasures and most rewarding destinations.” We couldn't agree more. In fact, it's what road trips were invented for.
Stay overnight at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, voted one of the top 100 spas in North America. It has 10 treatment rooms, massage rooms with Jacuzzis, therapeutic mineral baths, rain showers and deluxe glacial-inspired steam rooms.
Jasper is the largest of the Rocky Mountain National Parks. Like much of the surrounding area, the scenery is stunning. In the centre of the park you'll find Jasper Village, full of charming heritage log cabins.
If you're a golfing fan, it doesn't get much better than this. Designed by Canada's master golf course architect this beautiful course at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge leads you through a wildlife corridor with snow-capped mountains in the background.
Bet you've never been on a sidecar tour before. Well, now's your chance: Jasper Motorcycle Tours offers a unique way to explore the Rockies in the sidecar of a legendary Harley Davidson driven by a professional rider.
Stay overnight at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, the next day drive 145 miles to Lake Louise. Make sure you wake up hungry. Canadians are big on breakfast. They like eggs benny (eggs benedict) with Canadian bacon, and pancakes with maple syrup.
Lake Louise is so beautiful, you won't know whether to paint it, write poetry about it or take a picture of it.
Picture the scene: you and your road trip buddies gently paddling out, enjoying the peace and tranquility and soaking up the beautiful landscape. Rent a kayak from the Blue Canoe dock.
Horseback used to be the only way to travel through the rugged mountain terrain for explorers. Nowadays it's much more relaxed. Go on a trailride past the beautiful waters of the lake and take in the superb views of Mount Fairview and Mount Victoria.
Stay overnight at the Fairmont Hotel and enjoy some fine dining.
This is what road tripping is all about: a leisurely 114 miles drive back to Calgary just taking in the scenery.
We'll leave this one up to you. Put your feet up, take in the sites, drive off the beaten track or just have a lie in...
Visit the Heritage Park Historical Village, Canada's largest living history museum, where guides dressed as pioneers add a touch of charm. Enjoy a ride on an authentic steam train or a riverboat.
You've earned a darn good rest. Remember though, it's bear country, so don't go sleepwalking.
Visit between 5th and 14th July and you could go to this world-famous rodeo, exhibition and festival. Buildings get painted in cowboy themes, residents wear cowboy hats and boots and chuck wagons in the city streets serve pancakes for breakfast.
Canada Olympic Park is the site of the 1988 Winter Games. Explore the park on a rented mountain bike or have a go on Canada's fastest zip wire on the top of the ski jump tower and pretend you're Eddie “the Eagle" Edwards.
From Calgary, you catch your flight back to the UK the next day.
Spend the day exploring Toronto.
A European-style castle with decorated suites, secret passages, an 800-foot tunnel and an oven big enough to roast an ox. In fact, pretty much everything a castle should have, except a dungeon. It also has 5 acres of lovely gardens.
This marvel of engineering takes just 58 seconds to whoosh up the 1,136 ft to the top where you can take in the panoramic views and enjoy eating in the restaurant. If you are feeling really brave you can also do an EdgeWalk. Outside! High up over Toronto!
Don't forget they drive on the right in Canada. But the steering wheel's on the left. Got that?
Stay overnight in Toronto and make the most of the city's cultural diversity. From Little Italy, to a Greek neighbourhood to Chinatown, a world of culinary delights await you.
Take a day trip to Niagra Falls and experience them from a different perspective. Don't worry, the jetboat doesn't go over the falls, it just stays in the turbulent whitewater rapids created by the falls. Easy!
Take a day trip to these world-famous falls followed by a visit to some of Ontario's award winning wineries. Be sure to enjoy their sweet wines made from frozen grapes. It's ok, your trip includes a lift back to Toronto!
Groundhogs are common in canada. But they're not hogs. They're rodents. Also known as woodchucks or land-beavers.
Stay overnight in Toronto and make sure you wake up hungry. Canadians are big on breakfast, they like eggs benny (eggs benedict) with Canadian bacon, and pancakes with maple syrup.

Spend the night at Elmhirst's Resort, watching the sun set on your private outdoor deck in one of the resort's cottages.
Put your foot down (not too much) and drive the
155 miles to Ottawa. The road sign on the highway
may say 90 but that's km/h, not mph. Don't say we
didn't warn you!
The National Gallery hosts the national art collection with international exhibitions all year round. The Museum of Civilization has the world's largest indoor collection of totem poles.
This is one of Canada's oldest and biggest public markets. In an area roughly four blocks square, you'll find cafés, speciality food shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants, pubs and lots more.
There are over 16 types of Owl in Canada.
Woo Hoo.
Spend the night in Ottawa. The next day, enjoy more of what the city has to offer...
This is the seat of Canada's federal government. Tours take visitors through public galleries, to the Senate and House of Commons. In the evening there's a fabulous Sound and Light show.
This historic waterway winds through the heart of Ottawa and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's a great place to have fun in kayaks, canoes and paddleboats, all of which can be rented. You can also stay out of the water by riding along it on a rented bike.
It's not surprising Canadian road trips are epic. It's the second largest country in the world!
Spend another night in Ottawa.
Travel south on Highway 416 and west on Highway 401 for 120 miles to Kingston, Ontario.
Discover what 19th century military life was like. Aficionados in period uniform re-enact British drills and battle tactics. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore the region's shipwrecks. There are believed to be over 100, dating back to the 19th Century. Visibility ranges from 40 to 100 feet. In other words, it's pretty clear.
Drive 34 miles to Huff Estates Inn and winery in Bloomfield, Ontario where you stay overnight.
You've earned a darn good rest. Remember though, it's bear country, so don't go sleepwalking..
Travel east on Highway 401 for 48 miles to Belleville..
This offers a variety of classes from beginners to more established cooks under the guidance of local and guest chefs. And if you're feeling homesick at this stage don't fret, the pub chef is a Brit!
This park, on the shores of Lake Ontario has giant dunes, which form two of the largest sandbars in the world. Golden beaches offer a great place for windsurfing, canoeing and swimming.
From Belleville, travel east on Highway 401 for 53

Canada. Some neighbourhoods have changed so
little from the Victorian days you feel as though
you're walking around in an elaborate film set.
Travel on Highway 401 for 68 miles to Toronto.
Arrive in time to catch the late flight back to the UK.
Arrive in Vancouver and check into your hotel.
Spend the remainder of your day getting your

It's not surprising Canadian road trips are epic. It's the second largest country in the world.
Rise and shine. You've got an
action-packed day ahead of you.
You'll probably need a head for heights for this one. It's 230 ft above the Capilano River and 450 ft long. You can also go on a cliff walk or a treetops adventure. We were going to say breathtaking but it doesn't do it justice.
Go on a tour of Vancouver's surrounding areas including a ferry across to an island, a hike through a rainforest and a floatplane back to Vancouver.
There are over 16 types of Owl in Canada.
Woo Hoo..
Pick up your car and drive north for 78 miles along the beautiful Sea to Sky Highway to Whistler, a resort town flanked by glacial mountains. Check out the cascading Shannon Falls and the Stawamus Chief Rock that attracts climbers from around the world.
As the name helpfully suggests, this links two peaks together by way of a gondola or cable car. The views are like no other.
Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains have a large population of black bears and cubs. You get to ride in a nice comfortable 4x4 through a maze of mountain roads where you might also see deer, coyote, ruffed grouse and red-tailed hawks.
Stay overnight in Whistler and enjoy a mountaintop BBQ, at the Roundhouse Lodge. Just think of it: a mouth-watering meal at 6,000 ft., surrounded by stunning scenery. It sure beats your mate's back garden in the UK.
Take the Duffey Lake Road to Lillooet, the land of the
Gold Rush Trail. Along the way you will see
breathtaking views of Joffee Glacier. Afterwards visit

Continue driving west/southwest via Highway 97 for 70 miles towards Kelowna where you stay overnight.
This was one massive construction challenge and boy did they live up to it: 18 towering trestle bridges and 2 tunnels. Today it's all part of the Kettle Valley Rail Trail. Rent a bike in Kelowna and try and do it justice.
If you're interested in wines you're in luck. Tour wineries for tastings in this award-winning wine region. And for your delegated driver, there is still some great regional cuisine to sample!
Canadians are big on breakfast, they like
eggs benny (eggs benedict) with Canadian
bacon, and pancakes with maple syrup.
Make sure you wake up hungry.
Drive to Osoyoos, in the Okanagan Valley. Half close your eyes and you could be forgiven for thinking you're in the Mediterranean. It's the warmest freshwater lake in Canada and offers loads of activities.
This is 6 miles north of the town. It's an interactive education and research facility where guides offer insights into Canada's only true desert.
You've earned a darn good rest. Remember though, it's bear country, so don't go sleepwalking.
Overnight you stay at the Walnut Beach Resort,
a beautiful lakeside location, with a private sandy
beach and stunning views at sunset.
Take route 3 until you arrive at Hope, then drive
through Manning Provincial Park in the heart of
the Cascade Mountains. Or drive through Cathedral
Provincial Park, an expanse of jagged mountain
peaks, azure lakes and alpine meadows.
Just outside Vancouver, this is nature's playground offering hiking, helicopter tours, and paragliding. There's also a 1-mile skyride journey, lumberjack shows and grizzlies. And if you've got the energy, a steep 1.8-mile trail called the Grouse Grind. Good luck with that!
We'll leave this one up to you. Put your feet up, take in the sites, drive around or just chill out.
Groundhogs are common in canada. But
they're not hogs. They're rodents. Also known
as woodchucks or land-beavers.
Stay overnight in Vancouver. The next morning catch your flight back to the UK.
Arrive in Montreal and check into your hotel. The remainder of your day is just spent settling in and getting your bearings around this cultural hotspot.
We'll leave this one up to you. Put your feet up, chill out, drive around or take in the sites (like the amazing Montreal Biosphere).
Montreal has its own version of Boris Bikes called BIXI bikes which you can pick up at one station and then drop off at another. There are over 500 kilometres of bike paths, so it's a great way to see the city.
Stay overnight in Montreal.

Watch out for moose crossing the road. If you see one, slow right down and put on your hazard lights.
This is a little island on the St Lawrence River locked in the 19th century. Just 15 minutes out of the city on route 368, you can drive from one heritage village to another, stopping off in a chocolate factory, cheese dairy and cider house.
If you're one of those people who likes to walk around a city to get a proper feel for it, this is ideal.
The road sign on the highway may say 90 but that's km/h, not mph. Don't say we didn't warn you!
One evening you may be interested in an al fresco Cirque do Soleil® show which is performed exclusively for Quebec City throughout summer.
From Quebec City travel north for just over 100 miles along the Charlevoix Coast where you can visit numerous small producers of fine consumables. Stop at The Mountain Adventure Park of the Palissades, a spectacular landscape of natural terraces where you can enjoy several activities.
